Place a Hold

The Canton Public Library is a member of Library Connection, a consortium of 30 member libraries across north-central Connecticut. You can place holds on any item in our consortium catalog just as you would a Canton Public Library item.

You can place a hold in person, over the phone, or online. To place a hold online, simply go to our library catalog and search. You can search the entire consortium database or choose a single library to search. Once you find the item you want, you can select “Request It,” and log in using your library card number and PIN. You will be asked to select which library you want to pick up the item at.

If you are looking for an item that is not available at the Canton Public Library or at other libraries in the Library Connection consortium, we will try to locate the item at another library and have it sent to Canton for you. In order to use the Interlibrary Loan service, please fill out the ILL Request Form available at the library, or call us at 860-693-5800 and speak to a librarian.
