Genealogy Databases and Resources

There are a number of genealogy databases and resources available from Canton Public Library. Canton Public Library’s Local History Collection has a number of helpful resources for tracking down Canton and nearby local families. Ancestry Anyone doing research into their ancestors knows that ancestry.com is far and away the best website for tracking down all the details about one’s relatives. Ancestry’s extensive databases include census records; immigration and emigration records; newspapers and periodicals; court, land, wills and financial records; directories and member lists; military records; birth, marriage and death records; and more.

Ancestry is only available for in library use.

researchIT CT Genealogy Resources include historical issues of the Hartford Courant, searches of the Connecticut State Library’s digital collections in Ancestry and many links to useful and vetted genealogy websites and resources.
