American Indian Music in the 21st Century with musician, teacher and author Craig Harris

Join us for a dynamic program on Zoom with Craig Harris, the author of Heartbeat, Warble and the Electric Powwow: American Indian Music .  Craig has been a popular guest at Canton Public Library in person, performing and entertaining us with programs on The Woodstock Festival, The History of Bluegrass and Rock and Roll.

“A skilled percussionist/drummer, he has played with C.J. Chenier, Melanie, Rod MacDonald, Jonathan Edwards, Greg Brown, Merl Saunders, and Rick Danko (The Band). In addition to working with an acoustic Americana group (Two Days Jeans), he’s been a member of the Gaea Star Band (with whom he co-hosts a syndicated weekly radio show) since 2014.

After teaching music for more than a quarter of a century, Harris launched his Drum Away the Blues program in 2009. The staff photographer of the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and the Oldtone Roots Festival, he’s hosted radio shows in New York, NY; Boston and Cambridge, MA; and Homerville, GA.
