UConn Conn-Men to Perform at Canton

April 1, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

On Saturday, April 1 experience the best in a capella music when the UConn Conn-Men perform in a free concert from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Canton Public Library.

In their 22 year history, the Conn-Men have been lucky enough to perform at the White House, the Connecticut Governor’s Mansion, UConn Athletic events, and Convocation among many other events and places. The group has four acclaimed albums — Released, Unchained, Broskiffany, and Coffee Run. They are featured in a notable track on the 2010 Best of Collegiate A Cappella CD. The group has also been fortunate enough to have opened for the world-renowned Pentatonix and legendary Yale Whiffenpoofs.

To get a place in the group, performers in the Conn-Men must have not only a good voice and understanding of the music, they have to have musicality, original approaches, passion, and performance presence. They sing modern pieces by artists such as Silk Sonic or Andy Grammer, and fresh arrangements of oldies such as “Bring it on Home to Me” by Sam Cooke, “Still the One,” by Orleans and “Walk of Life” by Dire Straits. Samples of their sound can be found on their YouTube channel.

The program is free. Registration is not required. The library is located at 40 Dyer Avenue in Canton. If you have questions, please call/email Katie Bunn at the library, kbunn@townofcantonct.org.
