The Mystery of Bibliotherapy: Stories of the Uses of Books as Medicine with Mary Mahoney, Historian

January 8, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

On Saturday, January 8th at 2:00 pm, from the comfort of your own home, Canton Public Library offers a Zoom lecture for adults on the use of books as medicine, or Bibliotherapy.

Historian Mary Mahoney will give a talk on the subject explaining the many uses of books as medicine in our world today and in history.

Have you ever turned to a book for consolation?  Do you read Ellery Adams’ Secret, Book and Scone Society mysteries?  Have you treasured the escape of a graphic novel?  Many people find comfort in a poem, self-help book, memoir or simply the ritual of the Sunday morning newspaper.

Registration is required so we can send the Zoom link the day before the program.  You may email Beth Van Ness to register at bvanness@libraryconnection.info or call the library at 860-693-5800.
