From colonial to modern times, how did Connecticans tie the knot? How did they celebrate? What did they wear? And how did some of our cherished wedding customs originate? This program, presented by the Connecticut Historical Society, uses items from CHS’s collections to examine some of our ideas about what makes a “traditional” wedding, and what those traditions can reveal about how ideas about marriage have changed through the years.
This program is for all ages and will be held in-person at the library. Registration is required so we can set up sufficient seating. Please register here, by phone at 860-693-5800, or by email at smccusker@townofcantonct.org.
Inclement weather policy: If Canton schools or afterschool activities are cancelled for weather-related reasons, so too are events for teens and children at the Canton Public Library. The library is often still open, please contact us with questions or concerns at 860.693.5800.
