In 2022, nearly nine out of ten people aged 65 and older will receive Social Security benefits. These funds represent about 30% of the annual income to the recipients. With significantly fewer employer-provided pensions available in the workforce, Social Security benefits are often relied upon as a retirement income cornerstone. As a result, recipients must plan to properly time their benefit to align with their personal income needs and unique tax situation.

This discussion will cover basic Social Security facts and need-to-know considerations to guide you towards maximizing your benefit. Adam Scherer, MS, CFP®, EA, founder of West Hartford-based financial planning firm Greenbeat Financial & VP of Product Development & Innovation at the Boston Institute of Finance, will lead the session.

Registration is required.
