The Whalemobile is coming!

An inflatable LIFE-SIZED WHALE is visiting the library! Cynde McInnis, a naturalist from Gloucester, MA who has spent 31 seasons working on whale watch boats, is coming to the library with her life-sized (43 ft.) inflatable whale, Nile. Come by the library and meet Nile, a 37-year-old humpback whale whom McInnis has seen almost every summer since 1994 off the coast of Massachusetts.

Go inside of the inflatable whale and learn about how whales are similar to and different from humans. Learn about Nile’s migratory path, how many calves she’s had, as well as how researchers learned this information. See and touch baleen, teeth and whale bones! Be inspired to care about the oceans and the environment around us.
