Join us for an online presentation and discussion – “Successful Indoor Gardening”. The talk will offer practical considerations for choosing and caring for houseplants that will flourish in your home. Growing plants indoors can enhance your home, improve indoor air quality, and facilitate mental well-being. It is a wonderful activity for kids and adults alike. There will be an opportunity for Q&A as well.
Our presenters are Master Gardeners Thea Wehmann and Michelle Winkler. Thea was infected with a love of houseplants and everything floral at an early age. Following a practical career at a major financial services firm, Thea retired and relocated to a lovely property in Goshen, CT, completing her Master Gardener certification in 2019. Now her time is devoted to renovating the landscape of her 8+ acre “paradise” with her husband, chickens, honeybees, and, of course, raising the ante on the care of her houseplants.
Michelle is the Litchfield County Master Gardener Coordinator and an Advanced Master Gardener. She grows fruit, vegetables, flowers, and chickens on her Canton property. She enjoys educating gardeners about sound garden practices and the importance of removing invasive plants from your property. She also volunteers with the Canton Land Conservation Trust and is the treasurer for The Friends of the Canton Public Library. Home gardeners can contact her office with questions via email lcecgardeners@gmail.com (that’s a lower case “L” at the beginning) or the Hartford County office at hartfordmastergardener@gmail.com.
The program will be offered online via Zoom. Please register by emailing kbunn@townofcantonct.org. The Zoom link will be sent to you on the day of the program.
