Russell Library Veterans Writing Group

April 12 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Join us Tuesday, April 12 at 7:00 PM for a Zoom presentation from the Russell Library Veterans Writing Group.  Hear their true stories from Vietnam.  This group of Veterans has been meeting and writing their stories for more than seven years. They will be published by En Route Publishing in 2022.

The men and women from all branches of service will tell their stories and answer questions about their time in service. We will also be honoring a local Veteran.

The group is led by Christy Billings of Russell Library and Liz Petry, local author.  Liz lives in Middletown with her husband, Lawrence Riley who is a dog trainer.  Through the Veterans Administration, he is training pound and shelter dogs to be companion dogs for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury and other ailments that often lead to isolation.  Larry is also the past commander of the Veterans of the Vietnam War,  and past commander of American Legion Post 75.
