Are you wondering if you have invasive plants on your property? Join Master Gardener Michelle Winkler for an online workshop on July 9 at 7 p.m. Learn about what makes a plant an invasive, why invasives are harmful to our local flora and fauna, how to identify an invasive, and how to remove them without spreading the problem elsewhere. A few native alternatives to invasive plants will also be covered.
Michelle Winkler is the Litchfield County Master Gardener Coordinator and an Advanced Master Gardener. She grows fruit, vegetables, flowers, and chickens on her Canton property. She enjoys educating gardeners about sound garden practices and the importance of removing invasive plants from your property. She also volunteers with the Canton Land Conservation Trust and is the treasurer for The Friends of the Canton Public Library. Home gardeners can contact her office with questions via email firstname.lastname@example.org (that’s a lower case “L” at the beginning) or the Hartford County office at email@example.com.
Everyone is welcome! Please let us know if you are attending by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Inclement weather policy: If Canton schools or afterschool activities are cancelled for weather-related reasons, so too are events for teens and children at the Canton Public Library. The library is often still open, please contact us with questions or concerns at 860.693.5800.
