Teen Writing Contest

The Canton Public Library is excited to host its 1st Teen Writing Contest. Stories are judged in three different categories: Grades 7 & 8, Grade 9 & 10, and Grade 11 & 12. The top three writers in each age group and category will be invited to read at our Garden Reading on May 20, 2019. The writers chosen to present their work at Garden Reading will also have the opportunity to participate in a Spoken Word/Presentation Workshop lead by well known local author Beth Vrabel on May 11. Beth has published multiple Children and Young Adult novels. All entries will be published in a chapbook and added to the Canton Public Library's collection. Copies will be available for sale.

  1. Take a look at the Poetry Guidelines and the Short Story Guidelines
  2. Write your story! Need some help attend one of our contest kick-off programs listed on the library's Events Calendar
