Cooperation with Other Libraries

The Canton Public Library Board of Trustees and library staff will actively promote cooperation with other libraries and library agencies to meet the needs of the community more effectively.

At this time, the Canton Public Library engages in the following programs:

  1. Connecticard:  Materials can be borrowed from any public library in the state using Connecticard.   The Canton Public Library card serves as a Connecticard.
  1. Connecticar:  This is a state funded library delivery service.  Through Connecticar, materials may be returned without fee to a library other than the one from which they borrowed.
  1. Connecticut Interlibrary Loan and Out-of-State Loans:  Materials can be borrowed from a regional library, out-of-state, or special library generally without fee for the patron.
  1. CONNECT and Connecticut Library Consortium:  As a member of these collaboratives, the Canton Public Library participates in a number of cooperative services which are designed to strengthen the ability to serve users.
